“Our daughter has been attending the centre for nearly six months and we have been so impressed with the whole API experience. It was the first time sending our little one to daycare and the transition has been seamless. All of the educators are so lovely and have a genuine love for the children, most mornings our daughter runs happily into an educators arms.

“Absolutely love this place! At first, I chose API Little Cribb for my two girls because of the huge ‘natural’ play area! That’s a rare feature to have in a day care, yet very critical for our little ones. Why is it critical you ask? well, they learn by play, and what’s better play than exploring nature? Secondly, playing in a natural area introduce them to so many different microbes, which diversifies their gut microbiome. This consequently contributes to better immunity, less allergies, and better overall health (physical and mental)! I know because it’s what I do for a living!
I then learned how amazing and dedicated staff members are. Most of them have been at API Little Cribb for a very long time, and if that tells me anything, it’s how happy they are, which reflects on the amazing management. And happy teachers = more giving/patience with our children. Thank you guys so much for looking after my kids! Other aspects that I love include (but not limited to):

Big Cribb Centre Manager – Kim van Straaten
Kim van Straaten, Big Cribb Centre Manager grew up in South Africa and came to Australia as an adult. After spending a year in Sydney, she joined us in sunny Brisbane and soon after commenced with API Childcare starting as an Educator in 2017. Kim has qualifications and a background finance and law however, she was driven for a change in focus to an area she felt very passionate about and made the switch to childcare. Kim gets a lot of satisfaction and happiness working in the early years education sector and her desire to make a difference and create a positive learning environment for children has pushed her to continue studying in the field, now on her way to completing a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching.
Little Cribb Centre Educator – German
Little Cribb API Childcare are again thrilled to have German continue as an educator with us, entering his 4th year at API Childcare. German assists in several areas across the centre, not just being a great educator.
His skills in the kitchen are appreciated by the children and they also love learning Spanish, Columbian and Portuguese from him. German said working at API Childcare feels like being surrounded by a big family.
Little Cribb Centre Educator – Emily
Little Cribb are excited to have Emily as the Kindy teacher for 2023. Emily has been with API Childcare for 8 years. Commencing with API Childcare as an educator, Emily has continued her studies and is about to complete her Early Childhood teaching degree.
Emily loves working at API Childcare creating connections with families and relationships with children.
Little Cribb Centre Educator – Johana
API Childcare has been lucky to have Johana working at the Big Cribb Centre for 4 years. She loves developing relationships with the children at Big Cribb, seeing them light up when they learn.
Little Cribb Centre Educator – Jordana
Jordana is our ECT leading the Kindy program at Big Cribb API Childcare Centre. The children have enjoyed having her at the centre for 5 years. The best thing about being at API Childcare for Jordana is watching the children grow and develop while having the opportunity to develop close connections with them.

“API Childcare Centres offer parents living and working on the city fringe the best of both worlds. Little Cribb, our first centre opened in 1992 and has a large natural park styled playground, a rarity for an inner-city early years’ education facility. The children here explore their learning through play-based approaches with the experienced guidance of our dedicated Early Years Teachers, Educators and Assistants. Our latest addition, Big Cribb is right next door and whilst it presents as a modern styled centre, the family values and team approach grown at Little Cribb extends through the service. Offering both a modern and natural learning environment, a strong focus on play-based experiential learning is at the heart of our programs. I invite you to take a tour of our centres, meet our teams and see just how incredibly connected our team is with the children in our care and their families. The highlight of my work week is the time I get to spend at both centres, engaging with the children, staff, and families”.
